The Constitution works because...?

I have to write an essay, starting with "The Constitution works because.." The words: three branches of government, executive, legislative, judicial, checks and balances, federallism, and amendment process have to be used. Does anyone know how I can use these words in it, and how the constitution works? Please help! :D
