Windows Media Player /Playback controls. Not there?

I have just got a new desktop with windows 7 premium 64bit. When I run windows media player I cant get into the playback controls e.g. equalizer,wow controls etc. I was able to do this with no problems on my old compy, and I can do it on my laptop too. I think the version of WMP i have is 11. I cant find any way of getting to the E.Q. controls. Your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
