Very Strong Heartbeat causing wheezing sound?

After a recent adrenaline rush, my heart began to pound very strongly, more than I have ever felt before. So much that when I opened my mouth I could hear short wheezing sounds caused by the heart beat. Not by exhaling or inhaling, as it was when I held my breath on an exhale. Anyone ever heard of anything like this? :S
