Was it that hard to kill Hitler?

I just watched the movie Valkyrie and at the end of the movie it said Valkyrie was 1 of 15 known attempts of Nazi lieutenants trying to overthrow Hitler. Why didn't the lieutenants just snipe him or find a suicide bomber or tell the allies where their meetings were gonna held?
